Structures & Bridges

Bridges and structures do more than carry traffic—they connect communities, support economic growth, and keep people moving safely. From local crossings and pedestrian bridges to major highway structures and specialty facilities, Clark Dietz helps clients plan, design, inspect, and rehabilitate infrastructure that serves communities today and adapts to future needs.

Our team partners with transportation agencies, counties, municipalities, and utility providers to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that balance safety, constructability, and long-term performance. Whether extending the life of existing infrastructure or designing something entirely new, we bring the technical expertise, collaborative approach, and commitment to quality needed to move projects forward with confidence.

Whether designing new structures, rehabilitating aging infrastructure, or replacing deficient crossings, our team delivers practical, durable bridge and culvert solutions that improve safety, mobility, and long-term performance. We work closely with our clients to develop solutions that address site constraints, constructability, maintenance needs, available funding, and the unique needs of the communities they serve.

We provide:

  • Bridge Design
  • Bridge Rehabilitation & Replacement
  • Bridge Load Rating & Structural Analysis
  • Structure Studies & Alternatives Evaluation
  • Pedestrian & Non-Motorized Bridge Design
  • Culvert Design, Rehabilitation, & Replacement
  • Retaining Wall Design
  • Innovative Design & Construction Solutions

Through inspections, evaluations, and condition assessments, we help clients understand the current condition of their infrastructure, identify needs, prioritize investments, and make informed decisions that extend service life and reduce long-term costs.

We provide:

Given the number of bridges involved, field verification was critical to developing practical repair strategies. The Clark Dietz team conducted numerous site visits with MDOT staff to confirm deterioration, evaluate temporary support concepts, and translate those observations into constructible repair details that supported the accelerated I-275 project schedule. This was critical in supporting the delivery of repairs for more than forty bridges along the corridor.
