The City of Urbana is taking a bold step forward in public safety and infrastructure with the construction of two state-of-the-art fire stations. Designed by FGM Architects and engineered by Clark Dietz, these facilities will not only enhance emergency response capabilities but also showcase cutting-edge engineering and sustainability practices.

A Vision of Safety and Sustainability

The new fire stations, located at 1205 W Bradley Ave and 1501 E Mumford Dr, each span 12,000 square feet and are designed to meet the demands of modern firefighting. With an estimated construction cost of $14.4 million, this project includes comprehensive site development—spanning parking, drainage, roadway improvements, lighting, landscaping, and utility enhancements.

The design phase, which began in December 2023 with construction slated for completion by the end of Summer 2025.
