Kenosha, WI – Effective December 2023, Emily Basalla has been promoted to Wisconsin Regional Director.

Previously serving as Southern Wisconsin Area Manager, Emily has been with the firm since graduation from the University of Missouri – Columbia in late 2003. She joined the Board of Directors in 2021. Emily’s leadership focuses on delivering quality work while promoting innovation and efficiencies gained through software and technologies.

While she will now focus on broader regional goals and directives, Emily has a strong background as a project manager with experience in civil, environmental, and municipal engineering projects. She takes a creative approach to every project with the goal of integrating functional roadway, drainage, and storm sewer designs with sustainable solutions in a community context. Emily provides comprehensive solutions to drainage conveyance and maintenance issues, including permitting, with minimal community disruption. Emily has experience in stormwater design, green infrastructure, water main relocations, sanitary sewer design, wastewater treatment processes, pavement replacement, and roadway widening projects.

Emily’s experience in municipal engineering has made her well versed in development reviews, floodplain management, and the NPDES permitting processes. Her knowledge, experience, and tenacity ensure all needs are met and the municipality will experience a smooth and consistent delivery of projects. Emily is a Certified Floodplain Manager with a proven level of expertise in floodplain mapping, national and state level requirements, and the administrative procedures necessary for viable community floodplain management. Her approach to engineering is to protect public health and safety and improve the quality of the community while preserving the natural environment.
