GILMAN, IL – On Sept. 6, Illinois state and local leaders broke ground on Incobrasa Industries 2030 $250 million soybean crushing plant expansion project.

Gov. JB Pritzker was in attendance and spoke at the ceremony, along with other Illinois state and local leaders.

The 170,000 sq ft expansion is expected to more than double its production capacity for Incobrasa by 2030 and create 40 new full-time jobs while retaining 200 jobs.

In addition to the expansion, the plant will include 50 acres of solar panels, which will provide power directly to the plant. The panels will have the ability to create 5 megawatts of energy.

Clark Dietz is providing electrical engineering for medium voltage distribution, low voltage distribution, standby power, lighting, and miscellaneous special systems for the Plant Expansion project. Coordination with Ameren Illinois for a new 69 KV substation to feed power to the new and existing plant is also included. As part of the solar project, Clark Dietz is responsible for electrical, civil, and structural engineering for construction of the 5 MW AC solar field.

Incobrasa Industries has retained a leading role in the soybean production industry since 1997. The Gilman plant processes soybeans to distribute biodiesel, animal feed, and vegetable oil. With Illinois being the largest soybean producer in the nation, the expansion will allow further production of the substantial number of soybeans in the state.
