Kevin Hetrick, PE

Indiana Regional Director

Mr. Hetrick is Clark Dietz’s Central Indiana Area Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all projects beat the proposed schedule and stay under budget, and also making sure that all submittals adhere to our QC/QA processes. Kevin helps coordinate our team’s resources so the right staff are devoted to a project as needed to exceed schedule goals and bring innovative ideas to the table to control project costs. At Clark Dietz, he has been involved with roadway, path, and bridge design and construction, as well as small structure inspections. He previously worked for 14 years at INDOT, first as a Project Engineer in Greenfield District Construction, then in the Central Office Project Management section. He understands the necessary steps to take a project from the start of the Engineer’s Report until the Final Construction Record is closed out.

When Mr. Hetrick started as a Project Engineer in INDOT’s Greenfield District Construction, he worked on various I-465 added travel lanes projects, then spent eight years in INDOT Central Office delivering some of their most complex projects. As project manager for the Milton- Madison Ohio River Bridge Project, Kevin led development of contract documents for a design- build procurement of a 2,400-foot steel truss bridge replacement, including incentivizing reductions in bridge closure time. The closure time was reduced from 365 to 40 days, and Milton-Madison Bridge has won the Project of the Year Award in 2015 in the Great Lakes Region of American Society of Highway Engineers and the Regional Winner for the 2015 Southern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (SASHTO). As Design Director in INDOT’s Office of Innovative Project Delivery, Kevin helped develop the Technical Provisions for the Louisville Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project East End Crossing (LSIORB EEC), a Public-Private Partnership featuring a $750 million design-build of eight miles of new freeway with an Ohio River Bridge and 1,600 foot long twin bore highway tunnels. The LSIORB EEC won the Silver Award for “Best Road / Bridge / Tunnel Project” at the international P3 Awards.
