A versatile and values-driven leader with over 30 years of experience, Jacob Phillips has successfully managed complex teams, programs, and infrastructure initiatives across the military, public, and private sectors. He is known for aligning technical execution with strategic goals, developing high-performing teams, and building strong relationships with clients, elected officials, and municipal leaders.
Before joining Clark Dietz, he served as Director or Project Developemnt for INDOT’s Greenfield District, where he managed a $1.4 billion capital program. His leadership transformed team culture, reduced turnover, and improved communication and performance. Through mentorship and a focus on operational improvement, he elevated team members and enhanced project outcomes.
With a dynamic background in building automation, systems integration, and logistics management, Jacob has successfully led teams and projects with Johnson Controls, Siemens, and SAIC — across the country and internationally. Originally from California, he holds a B.S. in Electrical Technology from Thomas Edison State University and retired as a Sergeant Major, from the Marine Corps Reserve after 29 years. Jacob enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. However, his greatest joy comes from spending quality time with his wife of 28 years, their six children, and one grandchild, whether working on puzzles, playing games, or simply tossing a ball around.
