EXPERTISE: Stormwater, Municipal

Mr. Emir is a highly-respected Infrastructure Design and Water Resource Planning Professional with over 20 years of hands-on engineering experience. He currently serves as Secretary and Senior Vice President for Clark Dietz. He brings decades of diverse experience as a civil engineer and Senior Project Manager serving municipal clients in southeastern Wisconsin. Mr. Emir’s background is in water resources, stormwater management and municipal infrastructure planning for the long term. He has successfully created multi-year comprehensive sewer rehabilitation programs for Bayside and Whitefish Bay, and has recently completed a comprehensive plan for Shorewood. Mustafa was instrumental in flood response projects in several Milwaukee metropolitan suburbs following the heavy rains in 1998, 2000, and 2010. In the months and years since the July 2010 rains, Mustafa prepared and led dozens of public information meetings that steadily moved from confrontational to peaceful and collaborative. He has a keen ability to simply present complex ideas and foster constructive discussion with the public.

Throughout his career, Mr. Emir was responsible for managing a strong team of professionals delivering services in Parks, Planning, GIS, Water Resources, Natural Resources and Environmental Science. Mustafa leads our engineering team serving communities throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. His team reflects his values and vice versa: accountable, technical, meticulous, and fun.

Outside of work, Mustafa has served on the Board of Directors of Milwaukee Riverkeeper since 2010, and is the outgoing Board Chair after 3 years of service in that capacity. Mustafa actively and financially supports the following organizations: Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Riverkeeper, and 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. To the extent that is possible, Mustafa seeks to participate in many events offered by MMAC (Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce), Rotary Club of Milwaukee, and the Public Policy Forum where he is a Trustee, to better understand the issues and challenges that our City, region, State, and nation are facing.
