With over two decades specializing in traffic engineering and traffic operations, Steve Stramsak, PE /PTOE has extensive experience as a Project Manager, QA/QC Engineer, Lead Traffic & Safety Engineer for a variety of state DOT, local agency, and private projects.
As a Professional Engineer, Steve is a registered in both Michigan and Minnesota, holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from Lawrence Technological University. Although Lawrence Tech did not have a traffic engineering course, Steve was honored to teach the first traffic engineering course in the University’s history in 2016. Steve also obtained his Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification in 2017.
Prior to his time at Clark Dietz, Steve worked as a Traffic Engineer for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for just over 15 years. This included 4 years in the statewide Signal Design Unit in Lansing, 7 years with the Oakland TSC, and just over 4 years for the Detroit TSC.
Steve is a member of several organizations and is an active member and Vice President of the Michigan Section of ITE, also serving on the Award Committee and the Technical Session Committee. Steve will serve as ITE Michigan President in 2025. Steve is also a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and ACEC/Michigan.
