Description

Clark Dietz provided construction engineering services to IDOT District 1 during the complete reconstruction of approximately 5 miles of IL Route 64 (North Ave) from IL Route 53 to Villa Ave. The existing four-lane undivided roadway was replaced with a six-lane roadway with a landscaped barrier median. The pavement consisted of 10 inches of PCC over 4 inches of granular sub-base over 12 inches of aggregate sub-grade. In addition, 4,300 lineal feet of retaining wall was constructed with a noise abatement wall on top. Traffic signals were upgraded at eight intersections and three new frontage roads were constructed adjacent to the new roadway.
